What’s weird is that he didn’t die until 20 minutes from now…?
Brown was admitted Sunday to Emory Crawford Long Hospital and passed away around 1:45 a.m. Monday, said Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music.
It’s only 1:23! I still have time to warn them!

Boy’s leg is grievously injured by cannon explosion at high school football game. Some suggest that the practice should be ended. Angry townspeople propose a matching injury for his other leg should this happen.
For more information about the high school, check out the Wikipedia entry. Sadly, vandals have defaced the current page but fortunately Wikipedia offers access to the original version.
Well, not explicitly. However, an Australian Federal Court decided that linking to copyrighted material constitutes copyright infringement. The precedent set by the court effectively turns every search engine into an outlaw organization, since search engines provide links to material they don’t own the copyright to.
The rep for the Australian MPAA tried to distinguish the site’s activities from those of Google.
“Mp3s4free was different in the sense that it actually catalogued MP3 files that were infringing copyright material - Google doesn’t do that,” she said.
“There is, however, action that is being taken against Google in other jurisdictions, and we’re awaiting that eagerly.”
The media cartels eagerly anticipate the downfall of Google. It’s probably best that they don’t know about this.
I’m personally quite happy with the outcome since it pushes the whole system closer to the edge. The more stuff like this happens, the further the laws get from the actions of innocent people, the sooner it’ll all come crashing down.
Here’s a link to the story in the Sydney Morning Herald. Note that the story is copyrighted by the newspaper, and I’m likely infringing on that copyright by linking to the story. I’ll probably have to be extradited to Australia for this crime. (via)
I was shopping around for a pepper mill because I’ve been dabbling in the culinary arts again. To my dismay, they were all really expensive and snobby. So tonight on my shopping trip to TJ’s I found one for $1.99. It’s not a fancy-schmancy one, more like a grinder built into the lid of the bottle, but nonetheless it was exactly what I was looking for. I bought the matching sea salt and lemon pepper grinder things too.
This pleasant surprise came on the heels of finding that Stroopwafels were on sale for a paltry $2.99. They are like crack. My shopping mission was a success.
Update: I am not alone in my love for the stroopwafel.

I was (as per usual) pretty annoyed with the traffic tonight, but the destination made it worthwhile: I paid a visit to the USC Interactive Media Prototype Thesis Show. It was great. Passively multiplayer online games and a kickass multicolor LED-lit interactive dancefloor were just a couple of the featured theses. When I arrived the dancefloor was running Conway’s Game of Life, and touching a tile on the dancefloor turned it into an active cell. I was also turned on to Second Life Safari.
So yeah, traffic in LA = horrific nightmare, but then like childbirth the end result makes you forget the anguish.
I discovered a great trick in OS X: magic zoom. Hold down the ctrl key and scroll using either the mouse or the two-finger scroll on the laptop. It zooms the entire screen smoothly. Fantastic for viewing YouTube videos without having to deal with the popup window.
Steve Jobs has cleverly disguised his blog by calling it ‘Fake Steve,’ but I’ll bet a dollar it’s really him. I highly recommend it. Steve holds nothing back, revealing details about his adventures with Larry Ellison, Bono, Richard Branson, Hillary Clinton, and on and on. Awesome.
Nick Nolte’s fake blog is still going strong, too.
Sadly, George Bush decided to cut and run on his fake blog. A shame. Anyone know if there’s a list of quality hoax blogs floating around?
Update: Chaucer.

Engadget posted about this shocking ad for a Chinese MP3 player witha dude posing in front of the smoking ruins of the World Trade Center. The nerve.
